Travel guide of Powell24 km from Powell
Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is located on Navajo land east of Page, Arizona. It was formed by erosion of Navajo Sandstone, primarily due to flash flooding. Rainwater runs into the extensive basin above the slot canyon sections, picking up speed and sand as it rushes into the narrow passageways. I visited this wonder of nature in the summer of 2016.

It is magical what light brings to this world and how it brings out colors for just one example. It is light that we chase as photographers and something we will always cherish and keep learning and adjusting to.

I could not stop looking up at the vast amounts of designs and textures each turn took you. Still today I want to go back every time I see a picture of this place. Your next hurts when you get out of the canyon but its worth the pain.

Antelope is one of the coolest places I have ever been, but It is far from serene. It is loaded with people. Still totally worth it. I have not seen anything like it before or since.

We’ve been on a very intense photography session for photographers at Antelope Canyon, Page, USA. at the same time, they have photographers groups and tourists, however, when photographers shoot guides stop all the tourists to avoid people in the shot. That girl always tried to do Instagram style picture, staying still with the book and looking to the side, while everyone was screaming and asking her to go away. Apparently, in one of my shot, she looks like a ghost and I kind of like it.

You need to stand right there next to the edge to truly experience and understand how wide and immense the gap is.

These mystical hodos leave you in amazement. This isolated gem puts you in complete isolation and silence. It’s a truly stunning place to take a half hour and reflect. Is it in Arizona, or Utah? Depends on who you ask, but who cares :). It’s awesome.

From the bridge over Marble Canyon on US 89A we could see the storm blowing off the top of the mesa above the Vermillion Cliffs. Within ten minutes the storm arrived with rain and wind - even a little hail.

After arriving at 1 am, sleeping in the bed of a pickup truck, and trying not to freeze, we set up to watch the desert come alive and greet a new day. Monument Valley was such an amazing view to wake up to and great to watch the sun light up the phenomenal scene.

It was quite early in the morning when we decided to stop and make a few images of the towering rocks of Monument Valley. I turned around and saw Briana caught in the strong backlight and flare of the early morning sun. A few snaps later, I had captured her in this amazing place.

In summer 2018 I took my grandpa’s 1938 Voigtlander Bessa66 on a trip through western parks. The shots are taken on 120mm film and converted in jpg by a scanner

We saw this little canyon from the car and walked up to explore. It was simply amazing. It didn’t go too far back, but far enough that it was pretty isolated from the main canyon where the road was. As I was walking out I saw the treeless branches against the fall color and knew I had to capture it with the reflected light of the rocks. Southern Utah is one of the most fascinating places on the planet. I return every year.

That day was just crazy. We slept in the car at 40 degree outside and it was so difficul to breath in the morning that we had to wake up early. We had to do three park in a day: Bryce, Zion and finaly coral sand dune. The walk was short and we arrive in the middle of an observatory that was really high. Really scary, but worth it.

This was taken on one of the stops on a 28 day 10,000 mile roadtrip a couple buddies and I took around the US right after undergrad graduation. This is one of my favorite spots, getting to sit on the edge with my feet hanging over a huge drop down into the river as the sunset put a beautiful red/orange glow on the rock around us was incredible.
